Enhancing participation of mobile EU citizens in the European Parliament Elections

The European Elections 2024 are just around the corner! This year, the SEEEDS partners are back with a new exciting webinar series focusing on inclusion in the European Elections. The first webinar will focus on participation of mobile EU citizens in the European Parliament Elections. EU mobile citizens are EU citizens living in another Member State. They are estimated to number 13.7 million, of whom some 11 million are considered to be of voting age. Mobile EU citizens can also stand as candidates, but in the 2019 European Elections only 168 decided to do so. Civil society organisations reported a number of problems encountered by mobile EU citizens when exercising their political rights in their Member State of residence. What are the alternative voting options available in the Member States? What are the different requirements for mobile citizens to register and vote in their host countries? Join us for the discussion! For the purpose of the project, SEEEDS partners collect statistical information to provide informed recommendations on European Elections. We would be glad if you could help us by replying to some quick questions below. — SEEEDS is a project implemented by Election-Watch.EU, the European Partnership for Democracy, Democracy Reporting International and the European Platform for Democratic Elections EPDE.
